Insurance
What is the difference between medical insurance and vision insurance?
Vision Insurance
Vision Plans (such as VSP, EyeMed): Allow for our office to provide routine eye exams for glasses and possibly contact lenses. They may also give a discount on glasses or contact lens purchases. They do not cover any evaluations or testing for eye diseases or medical complaints such as eye irritation, dryness, itchiness, diabetic evaluations, glaucoma evaluations to name a few.
Medical Insurance
Medical Insurance (such as Medicare, Community Health, BCBS, Aetna): Allow for our office to evaluate and treat any medical complaints such as eye irritation or pain, dryness, itchiness. They also allow for diagnostic testing and evaluation of eye diseases such as Glaucoma, Diabetic Eye Diseases, and Macular Degeneration to name a few. Medical insurances typically do not cover refractions for a glasses prescription or contact lens evaluations.

Contact lenses can be custom fitted to your eyes after your comprehensive exam and start at $105, but may vary depending on the complexity of your prescription. The contact lens fitting fee includes all trial lenses and covers all follow ups to ensure a proper and healthy fit of the lens.
Out of pocket medical visits start at $85.
